Home Stay

Book a night in an authentic working Zulu homestead. Guests wanting to do this activity need to book it ahead through our reservations department. Maximum 4 people and no children under 4 years. Guests are driven up to the park gate and then walk accompanied by a guide to the homestead where they are introduced to the Zulu family and spend an afternoon doing family activities. After assisting with the herding of the cattle into their night pen guests gather around the fire to converse with the family and learn about Zulu culture. Dinner is served in the traditional style in the dining hut. After dinner guests retire to their bedrooms which have mattresses on the floor with sheets and a duvet. A chemical toilet and bucket shower are available for exclusive guest use. Breakfast usually consists of fruit and porridge. After breakfast the guide will walk the guests back to the vehicle and will then return to Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge where they can continue with their onward journey
