The history of Cyprus, the copper-rich eastern Mediterranean island with the legendary birthplace of the goddess of love Aphrodite on the southern coast near Paphos, was determined in ancient times by its location in close proximity to three continents. Impressive sculptures, painted clay vessels and jewelry have come down to us from different eras, which not only make the diverse external influences clear, but also provide insights into the cultic customs.
