Destination: Wilderness Seba is found in the south-west of the Delta on the picture-perfect Abu Private Reserve. It covers 180,000 hectares (445,000 acres) of land, which changes from season to season – from inundated floodplains and channels to palm islands in the north-east, and the dryer Kalahari Sandveld tongue in the west. Here, trees like Kalahari appleleaf and silver terminalia dominate, adding great contrast to the landscape.
The camp is nestled in a wildlife wonderland overlooking a perennial lagoon. Its riverine vegetation in a forest of majestic hardwood trees is home to extraordinary birdlife and offers wonderful views. The seasonal lagoon brings plenty of thrilling activities for the whole family to enjoy throughout the year.
Experience: This is the perfect camp from which to introduce young families to the wonder and adventure of Africa. There's something for everyone in this charming camp.
In addition to classic safari activities, guided nature walks, night game drives, mokoro and boating excursions, and seasonal catch-and-release fishing are just a few of the excursions to look forward to here.
This variety of land- and water-based game-viewing activities ensures that Seba delivers an unforgettable "combination" Okavango Delta safari experience.
We also offer numerous educational and fun-filled in-camp adventures for our younger guests, including bush cooking, photography lessons and painting.
Purpose: Here at Wilderness Seba we aim to inspire today's young people to become tomorrow's conservationists – because we believe you are never too young to care, or to become involved. The camp runs various green operating systems, including 100% solar, to ensure as light an environmental footprint as possible.
Wildlife: Guests can look forward to seeing elephant in large numbers alongside a wide range of iconic African animals, thanks to its unique location in the Delta. Unlike the permanently inundated areas of the Okavango Delta, the habitat around camp varies greatly. Here one can spot buffalos, giraffes and zebras, and antelope such as impala, tsessebe, lechwe and wildebeest. Sightings of lions and spotted hyenas are also common, with excellent leopard, and even occasional African wild dog sightings.
Wilderness Seba: Guests are accommodated in eight well-appointed and spacious tented suites, two of which have been especially designed for families and can accommodate up to four or six guests.
Constructed from natural materials including wood and thatch, as well as canvas, the luxury tents blend seamlessly into the surrounding bush.
The shared area includes a dining and bar area which are set on a raised deck with glorious views. The pool in the main area lies under a pergola and makes a wonderful spot for a relaxing cocktail and a refreshing dip.
